Talk Yourself into Better Golf with Golf Hypnosis for Positive Self Talk

By Jerry J. Jansen On December 11, 2009 No Comments

Do you talk to yourself when you’re playing golf? Well, if you don’t, you may have a serious problem. It’s called brain death! Self-talk, otherwise known as internal dialogue or intrapersonal communication, is one of the main functions of our conscious mind. It allows us to make sense of our conflicting thoughts and to express our ideas and feelings to ourselves. Most of the time we talk to ourselves internally and sometimes, particularly after a bad shot, we share our self-talk with everyone in earshot. That can be a large distance with some of the golfer’s I’ve played with!

Self talk really comes into its own when we are internally analysing and evaluating complex choices in our lives. A good example is when you are starting your pre-shot routine and deciding on the type of shot you’re going to play. Have you ever had one voice in your head proposing an ambitious shot with a driver and another one encouraging you to make a more conservative shot with an iron? Don’t worry about it. There is a big potential for golf in the United States. It is estimated that more than 50% of total golf courses globally are located in the country. That is how warmly Americans brace golf. However, the sport still has a worldwide popularity. Many play golf for leisure, but only a few play it as a career. That is why any fanatic could only name a handful of icons and golf superstars.

Who are the icons of golf? In the past, the icons in the sport included Arnold Palmer, Vijay Singh, and Lee Trevino. During the 1950s, women started getting into golf. Some of the women golf icons are Nancy Lopes, Karrie Webb, and Babe Zaharias. They all have inspired many generations of men

How to find the golf shoe that is right for you!

By Jerry J. Jansen On December 11, 2009 No Comments

image It all depends on your feet.  Basically, golf shoe or not, shoes must be comfortable to wear and should fit good.  Also, the shoes should  fit your budget as well as your lifestyle.

Old golf shoes have those spikes that are made out of metal.  These types of foot wear are no longer allowed on the golf greens.  Throw them out and get a new pair of great golf shoes.  Current makers of golf shoes use spikes that are soft and made of plastic.

Brand it or not

The brand is not as important compared to fit, comfort and style.  You may have the shoes that Tiger Woods wears but that does not mean you will play like him if you wear the brand of shoes he wears.  Be realistic.  If you prefer the slip-on golf shoes
