Elin Woods Saved Tiger Woods’ Life From Car Accident

By Jerry J. Jansen On November 28, 2009 No Comments

Tiger Woods’ wife Elin Woods saved her husband’s life from a car accident with a golf club.

The initial media reports that instantly spread around the globe sounded dire: Tiger Woods had been “seriously” hurt in a car accident early Friday and was hospitalized.

It turned out the superstar golfer’s injuries, first reported by the Orlando Sentinel, weren’t as dreadful as the word “serious” implied in the police report. But as additional details emerged, it appeared Woods certainly suffered more than a fender bender.

Woods, 33, was backing out of his driveway in the Isleworth community near Orlando, Fla., at 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant and then hit a neighbor’s tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It was almost 12 hours before the police issued an accident report, and it is still unknown why Woods was out driving at that hour and much about the incident remains unclear.

After the first news reports about the accident, Woods’ website in the afternoon issued a terse statement saying he was in “good condition,” after being treated and released from Health Central Hospital in nearby Ocoee, Fla.

The Associated Press later Friday quoted a local police chief as

Golf Cart

When playing golf, it is quite difficult to carry a bag with the different clubs even with the company of a caddy. This is because the bag weighs a lot and of course, be it 18 or 36 holes, is a long walk. It is a good thing that there are golf carts to get from one hole to another which will save the person time and energy especially if one is playing for a lot of money in a golf tournament.

The first golf car was launched in 1962 and since then has made some modifications. The traditional golf car is a battery powered 2-seater that comes with a hood and has a small baggage compartment for the golf bag in the back.

If one is interested in getting one, here are a few things that a person must know;

1. Golf cars may not be as expensive as the real car but one still has to shell out some money to get a unit.

Even Pros “Warm” First

By Jerry J. Jansen On November 27, 2009 No Comments

Golf as a sport can cause a high number of injuries.  The injury rate for recreational golfers is an astounding sixty percent – and even higher for golfers over age 50. Warm is necessary for golfer. You should know that even the hot golfers swarm before golfing.

Although the golf-related injury won’t  put you in the hospital, it would result in an average of five weeks lost playing time – and some golf injuries can be season ending.

Golf injuries among amateurs are caused by a combination of factors, including overuse (excessive play or repetitive practice), poor conditioning, faulty swing technique, and improper warm-up.
Who warms up before playing golf? Unfortunately, most recreational golfers think that the first three holes of their round is the warm-up! Studies show that only a few percent of recreational golfers take the time to stretch or warm up before playing a round or visiting the driving range. The rest of us? Well, a quick stretch here and one or two air swings and – wham – we’re off to the races. Big mistake.

Most folks wouldn’t dream of standing on a pitching mound and throwing a baseball as hard as they could, or running a 50-yard
