Helpful Hint 1: Feel the Desire
Sure you want to improve your golf score, but are you willing to do the work? Perhaps the most important thing you will need before you can improve your golf game and lower your score is to get the kind of desire that results in action. You will need the desire that allows you to change your schedule in order to accommodate more practice time, and to put yourself in the vulnerable position of asking for help and guidance from more seasoned players.

A Callaway Standout
Callaway has followed up their new 2009 US releases with a model headed straight for Japan in the new year. It bears some resemblances to many of the previous models but has a couple differences that make it standout in our opinion.
Inspired by Roger Cleveland
Roger Cleveland has come up with this sharp looking new iron for the Callaway brand…it’s called the Callaway Legacy Forged Iron…but unfortunately its only for the Japanese and possibly the European market. And similar to the new Japanese Ping Rapture V2 J…they

When varsity golf coach Ralph Jenkins said goodbye to his seniors at his team’s end of year award celebration, it also happened to be his 65th birthday. On that meaningful day, he received a surprise 65th birthday group present that was far more personal than any golf plaque his players or fellow coaches could ever give him. He received a keepsake CD filled with the voices of his colleagues, his graduating players, and their parents, expressing their thanks and warm wishes. The recordings ranged from funny to sentimental, and demonstrated to him what he had meant to his players.
“I go out there and urge my players to be the best that they can be every day. I’ve always focused on the players, and when they gave me this gift it made it clear how much my coaching meant to them personally”.
The players and their parents wanted to give the coach a nostalgic present that was very personal. However, with frantic schedules, the players and their parents knew that the group gift would have to be easy for everyone to contribute to.
The Keepsake CD the coach received is called LifeOnRecord.
Team mom, Kelly Schmidt, got the idea when her husband gave her a

I received an e-mail from a fellow golfer today asking for help in slowing down their back swing. This gentleman had been trying, without success, to say to himself “slow” and “stop” when at the top of his back swing. His assessment of the situation was that the speed of his back swing was creating bad shots.
This is one of the biggest myths in golf. (The other most popular myths are that you should always keep your head down and your wrists stiff.) A fast swing is only an issue if you cannot control the direction in which the club face is travelling. Each individual has their own tempo or rhythm which does not just apply to golf. How fast do you walk or talk?
Ask yourself what your normal speed is. If it is quite swift, then your natural swing tempo will be as well. You play golf from the platform of you the person; rather than trying to adapt your entire personality to your golf, you need to adapt your golf to your personality. You just have to learn to apply the club face to the ball accurately whilst you swing, at whatever speed your natural rhythm dictates.

Firstly there was Lee Westwood’s much talked about “Secret Plan.” When the dust settled he admitted, “Okay, if you really want to know, the secret was making everyone else think I had a secret, when I didn’t really have one.” He had the rest of the field nervously waiting to find out what the plan was and not concentrating on their own plans. In my forthcoming book, The Secrets of Hypnotic Golf, I talk about protecting yourself against Covert Hypnosis or “Black Ops Golf”, as other people refer to it. Although I’m not comfortable with Covert Hypnosis, I have to admit that Lee’s approach isn’t that much different from Jack Nicklaus taking advantage from “The golf psychology of letting everyone else complain while you win“, as I wrote about in September.
Then there was the Lee’s personal success story of how he regained his form when he explained that. “The reason for the big turnaround in my confidence and stuff like that was catching my caddie, Billy Foster, at the beach party on Tuesday evening when he probably had enough Heineken to tell me what he really thought.” Lee went on saying, “He said I’d not been myself recently. I’d paid too much
