For special Myrtle Beach golf packages, follow along the Historic Waccamaw River as you enjoy a great round or two of golf along the Waccamaw Golf Trail!

Waccamaw a name originating with the ancient Waccamaw river dwellers from North to South Carolina. The Waccamaw River (perhaps better known as the Intracoastal Waterway in that area) flows from North Carolina to Winyah Bay, in Georgetown, South Carolina and now instead of old rice fields and former plantations, the river meanders past some of the finest Myrtle Beach and Pawleys Island Golf.

You’ll see wildlife you don’t see in other areas, pileated woodpeckers are common as are “monkey squirrels”. You might even spot a Black Bear. Azaleas and dogwood flood the banks and bloom in the spring. You’ll find outstanding restaurants, shops, fishing and crabbing and more attractions.

No need to travel all over the state like the RTJ golf trail in Alabama, these courses are close and convenient to each other. Famous golf designers with golf course designs you’ll find hard to match. Among the award-winning golf courses on this newly instituted Waccamaw golf trail, four have been listed as “America’s Top 100 Public Golf Courses” by Golf Digest, and Willbrook Plantation was named in the “Top 25 Courses for Women in America” by Golf for Women.

Golf courses you will want to play again and again, just minutes from each. This is an unmatched golf experience? Don’t worry about traffic, convenience is what we’re talking about here.

Don’t miss TPC and Wachesaw Plantation East, as well as Gary Player’s Blackmoor at the north end of Waccamaw Golf Trail. It takes just about 10 minutes from Murrells Inlet to some great Pawleys Island golf at Litchfield CC, the Tradition Club and the famed River Club. Willbrook Plantation is also in the immediate area. Just a few miles beyond that you can play Caledonia, True Blue, Pawleys Plantation and the new Founder’s Club.

What a golfing experience…some of the best golf courses you may ever play!

Beautiful Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, has enviable views of the old rice fields from it’s club house and sometimes the comments from the porch that overlooks the 18thhole will hassle you, but never doubt you are playing one of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” as named by Golf Digest. It’s also considered one of the most beautiful courses in the area due to old plantings, a welcoming avenue of Oaks and other scenery. Waverly Plantation the grounds on which Caledonia was built was a working rice plantation up until about 1912. Doc Lachicotte & Wilson Springs, the founders of Caledonia can be spotted many times at the little “fish camp” just before you make the turn into the road leading to the clubhouse. True Blue Golf Course and sister to Caledonia was ranked in Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” in 2003.

We believe you’ll enjoy these golf courses more than most other courses you have played. Their proximinty adds to the fun. Don’t stop with two or three golf courses, play them all! Whichever you choose, you’ll enjoy a different kind of golf vacation and true Southern hospitality.
