How to start the backswing

A good backswing normally starts with you taking the position correctly, after which you need to start making small movements with your arms.

Be warned against starting off with a speedy backswing, because this could result in a steep swing plane further causing a reduction in the accuracy and the power on your hits. You must also note that your right shoulder has to be little lower than the left, especially if you are right handed. With this now, you can start your backswing but make sure to have a fluid motion between your arms, shoulders and hips to get it right.

If you could point out one common bad habit in golfers especially when they start a backswing, it has to be that
most of them tend to do it with their arms and shoulders only, which results in them losing on quite a bit of power and accuracy. Enough practice is the best way for you to get rid of this habit, but you also need to focus then on how your body moves. Get your arms, shoulders, upper legs and hips to move in one fluid motion and you would be good to go.

A full, natural swing is something most golfers spend years trying to achieve. The process to complete the backswing

At the end of the day, what matters the most is how fluid your body is during the backswing and other actions as you prepare to take a hit. Not only will different body parts have to be in a particular position, they must at all times work in a way where you get a feeling of optimal power for sure. The positioning of the right and the left elbow matters a lot to how your golf swing comes through.

At the top position, if everything is gone right until now, the battle to get the perfect golf swing you will realize has just begun. Here, the positioning of the wrists matter a lot because you dont want to
end up clutching the golf club too tightly. The club needs to be gripped firmly enough yet you must stay relaxed at all times.

When the club is right above your head, you must adjust your body positions marginally in order to get maximum power on your shots. The left shoulder, it must be noted, has to be above the right shoulder in this position and the left knee bent slightly towards the right knee. This is considered to be the best position from where you could go for the downswing.
